Paul was previously a Senior Consultant in Hay Group's Executive Compensation practice, focused on advising clients nationally, primarily within the real estate, pension fund and investment management industries. His work is specialized in strategic compensation review and design, risk assessment, incentive performance calibration, board compensation and governance. Previously he was an Associate Consultant with one of Canada's largest independent compensation advisory firms, focused on strategic compensation review and design for a variety of organizations across Canada. Formerly, he spent several years as a Research Consultant with Addison Kelly Executive Search, representing senior business professionals on behalf of multinational organizations operating in the Energy, Telecommunications and Cable industries. Paul was also a Consultant with Carpedia International, a leading strategy consulting firm, involved in developing cost effective business solutions for the financial services and manufacturing industries.

Paul is an MBA graduate and Athletic Scholar from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management Economics in Industry and Finance from the University of Guelph. Paul is currently a Level 1 candidate in the CFA Program.

Luis H. Navas, Vice Chair

Overview
Luis Navas is a Vice Chair at Global Governance Advisors and is a globally recognized expert in the areas of Executive Compensation, Human Resource Strategy and Corporate Governance. He has served for over 20 years as an advisor to the board of directors and top management of major corporations around the world.

Luis has consulted to a variety of organizations in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa, across a wide spectrum of industries.

Professional Background and Affiliations
Luis' background includes experience in the investment industry in Corporate Finance and as a Mergers and Acquisitions specialist, at BMO Nesbitt Burns. He subsequently spent several years with Mercer Human Resource Consulting where he rose to the position of Senior Principal in their Global Executive Compensation Group, and has also been Vice President of Compensation for one of Canada's largest corporations. Luis also co-founded Canada's first independent executive compensation advisory firm and built it into Canada's largest. Luis has worked extensively with some of Canada's most well respected companies in the areas of executive compensation and corporate governance. Most recently, Luis was National Practice Leader, Executive Compensation for Hay Group in Canada, and a member of the firm's Executive Management Committee and Global Practice Leadership Group.

Luis graduated with high distinction from the Richard Ivey School of Business with both Honours and Masters Business Administration degrees, and has attended the Harvard Business School's Executive Development Program. He is a faculty member of the Directors College and a frequent speaker at professional conferences, national television, syndicated radio and writes extensively on all aspects of executive compensation.

David Crane, Senior Partner

Overview
David Crane is a Senior Partner at Global Governance Advisors and a key member of the firm's Senior Leadership Team. David brings over two decades of experience in executive compensation and board remuneration practices to the firm.

Professional Background and Affiliations
David brings his extensive experience to Global Governance Advisors after serving as the Canadian Executive Compensation Practice Leader at Hay Group, an international compensation and human resources consulting firm, and then in his role as Principal of an independent executive compensation and board remuneration practice.

Following emigration to Canada, David joined Charles Kench & Associates, an independent actuarial firm, where he advised public and private sector organizations on the design and costing of group employee benefits plans and gained pension plan design, funding and regulation.

David then served in the corporate Human Resources division of Canada Trust (pre-TD merger) and was responsible for managing all aspects of compensation, benefits and pension policy development and administration, plus human resources information systems development and management, for a rapidly growing company.

David has advised a wide variety of Canadian private and public sector organizations on executive compensation structure and positioning in the market. He has also brought his expertise and thought leadership to bear on short and long term incentive plan design, the tax effectiveness of compensation, work evaluation, organizational design, employment contracts and board remuneration. He has now merged this independent practice with Global Governance Advisors upon his appointment to the role of Senior Partner.

Dr. Sandro Iannicca, Director

Overview
Dr. Sandro Iannicca is a Director and Strategic Partner at Global Governance Advisors.  With extensive experience in organizational psychology and management consulting in the human capital arena, Sandro specializes in the maximization of the talent within organizations.

Sandro possesses the ability to work with almost any HR methods, tools and procedures currently available in the marketplace.  Sandro focuses on constructing consulting solutions that meet particular client HR needs and issues.

Professional Background and Affiliations
Sandro has extensive experience in the areas of leadership assessment and development, performance management, succession planning, human resources strategy development and execution, organization design and development, senior team effectiveness and executive coaching.  He has managed large consulting practices in the United States and Canada.  Sandro was the Managing Partner for the consulting group at MICA Management Resources in Toronto.  Previously, he also led the Human Capital group with Mercer Human Resource Consulting in Toronto, and in the U.S. he headed the Workforce Transition group with KPMG in Dallas Texas.  

He has consulted to the private and public sectors in Canada, the US, Europe and the Middle East.  His most recent engagements have included large scale executive assessment, multi-rater and executive coaching, Board-driven CEO performance evaluation and system development, senior executive competency profiling, performance management system development, assessment for selection purposes, organization design and structure work and human resources strategy development and execution.  A sample of the organizations he has worked for includes: the Royal Bank of Canada, Sears, Aventis, the Ontario Public Service, Labatt and Microsoft.

Dr. Iannicca obtained his Masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from California State University in Los Angeles and his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green State University.  He is active in professional associations on both sides of the border.

W. Bradley Kelly, Director

Brad was previously a Senior Consultant in Hay Group's Executive Compensation Practice, Brad had the opportunity to represent stakeholder interests and advise the Boards of a wide range of organizations - from large, established, financial institutions to new industrial start-ups.  Prior to this, Brad spent close to a decade working in the Federal Public Service where he developed a strong knowledge of complex institutions and their needs.  Working at the Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada, Brad specialized in performance management and strategic planning - guiding federal executives and organizations through annual performance planning cycles.  Following that, Brad became a senior policy analyst and strategic planner at Industry Canada where he focused on organizational renewal, succession planning and management retention.  

Brad is a Masters of Public Administration graduate of Carleton's School of Public Policy and Administration.  He graduated as Valedictorian at the University of Waterloo and holds Honours degrees and specializations in Political Science, Public Administration, Legal Studies, and Philosophy.  Brad has studied at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and has received numerous awards for his work and is currently a level 1 candidate in the CFA program.

Flo Paladino, Director

Overview
Flo Paladino is a Director at Global Governance Advisors.  With extensive experience in human resources planning in complex organizations, Flo works with Board members and executives to devise innovative HR solutions to their challenges.

Professional Background and Affiliations
Flo has extensive experience leading HR groups in various large organizations.  Her focus has been on developing HR strategies, aligned to business goals with a focus on managing change and improving employee engagement.  Prior to joining GGA, Flo was the head of Human Resources at OMERS, one of Canada's leading pension plans, with $52 billion in net investment assets.  Flo was responsible for leading a team of professionals in the management of OMERS intellectual capital - its people.  While at OMERS, Flo led the creation of new market-competitive incentive plans for OMERS and its subsidiary companies that were better aligned to business strategy and promoted a strong performance culture.  During Flo's tenure with OMERS, and as a testament to her work, OMERS was recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, three years in a row.  Prior to this, Flo spent 14 years working for the Ontario Public Service in diverse roles where she effectively developed, implemented and managed policies and programs in various ministries with complex businesses and a province-wide impact.  Examples of this work include the development of succession plans and change management tools, as well as the management of the first Ontario Public Service strike for the Ministry of the Attorney General.

Flo has Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Economics and Labour Studies from McMaster University.  She also completed Harvard's program for Compensation Committees and has a Certificate from the Rotman School of Business in Managing Strategic Change.  Flo holds a Strategic HR Professional designation from the Human Resources Professional Association.

Dale Stanway, Director

Dale Stanway is a Director at Global Governance Advisors and a key member of the firm's Senior Leadership Team.  He brings to this role his experience as a CEO, President and Board Director.  Dale has extensive experience in leadership and management consulting in the human capital arena.

Professional Background and Affiliations
Dale has held senior consulting roles with Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson) and Hay Group in both Toronto and Calgary.  He has consulted in the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada across a wide spectrum of industries.  His broad management consulting experience has focused on Human Capital, Leadership and Corporate Governance.  His work helps boards develop and execute their overall strategy.

As a former CEO and board director, Dale's experience goes beyond his current advisory role and expertise.  He uses his knowledge to work with clients and advise them as an expert and experienced board member on issues of compensation, corporate governance and risk.

Previously, as a Client Executive for EDS, Dale administered the pension and compensation for 45,000 people for one of Canada's largest banks and then later managed the eastern United States operations of one of the largest pension administration outsourcing providers in the US.  He knows how to ensure accurate delivery of board decisions and strategic directions as they relate to compensation governance.

Dale holds a Masters degree from Harvard's Kennedy School where he studied leadership, labour relations and management.  He is currently a lecturer in the Executive Compensation Certificate Program, delivered by Global Governance Advisors in cooperation with the Human Resources Professionals Association.

Jonathan T. Foster, Principal

Prior to joining GGA, Jonathan worked in Hay Group's Executive Compensation practice in Toronto.  

Jonathan has consulted on executive and director compensation issues for public and private corporations in a range of industries including pension funds, financial services and real estate.  He is knowledgeable about compensation benchmarking, performance measurement and analysis, and corporate governance.  Jonathan has specific experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative analyses in areas of short and long-term incentive plan design, financial modeling, peer group establishment, pay-for-performance, executive and director compensation, and risk tendencies.

Jonathan holds an MBA from the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University where he graduated with distinction and he spent a semester studying abroad at the National University of Singapore.  Prior to his MBA, Jonathan graduated with distinction from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Bachelor Degree specializing in Psychology.  Jonathan has completed the Canadian Securities course, and has passed level 1 of the CFA exam.

Brendan Sheehan, Principal

Brendan Sheehan is a Principal at Global Governance Advisors and a leading expert in governance, risk management and compliance.

Brendan was formerly a senior executive at the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) directorship. He has also worked as a Senior Analyst for BoardEx (UK) , where he was responsible for analyzing and reporting on corporate governance and board dynamics with UK, US and international companies. Prior to this position Brendan was an investment banker at a leading London, UK based firm where he specialized in high-yield bonds and asset-backed securities.

Brendan appears on panels at various meetings of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. He is a member of the steering committee and panellist at the National Directors' Institute and presents at various international governance and compliance conferences. He also created an ethics and compliance course at New York University (NYU) where he served as Adjunct Professor. Stanford University has recognized Brendan's achievements in the study of best practices in governance by voting him one of the top 15 business thought leaders in the US and awarded him a Stanford Media Fellowship for 2010.
